AISMOC souvenir, TMH Clinics newsletter released Jamshedpur, Feb 3: The 43 rd edition of All India Steel Medical Officers Conference (AISMOC 2024) was formally inaugurated today by Chief Guest, Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel. The event has been organised by the Tata Steel Medical Services Division. Chaudhary expressed his eagerness and enthusiasm in supporting the AISMOC conference. The AISMOC souvenir, TMH Clinics TMH newsletter were also released during the inaugural ceremony by Chaudhary in the presence of AVM Dr Sudhir Rai, General Manager, Medical Services, Tata Steel, Dr Minakshi Mishra, President, Clinical Society of Tata Main Hospital organizing Secretary of 43 rd AISMOC, Dr Neelam Mehta, Secretary, Clinical Society TMH co-organizing secretary of AISMOC. The Day started with 43 rd AISMOC Scientific Program, TQM Award Paper sessions where doctors from seven different steel companies participated. Two more award paper sessions- Short PG paper PG poster category were also conducted today. Three guest lectures were conducted during the day. First lecture was on "Gender Reassignment: Healthcare's need of the hour" by Dr Sanjay Pandey, an eminent Urologist from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai. The second lecture was delivered by the eminent Hematologist Dr Sukesh Nair, Professor, Department of Transfusion Medicine Immunohematology from CMC Hospital, Vellore. He spoke on 'Abnormal Bleeding'. The third lecture was by Dr Anup Kumar Rawool, the Geneticist from Bangalore. His topic was "From Conception to Childhood: Navigating the Genetic journey in perinatal paediatric Care". The Symposium on The Golden Hour were participated by Dr Mandar M Shah (Cardiologist, TMH) who spoke on ACS, Dr Amit Kumar Sahu (Bokaro Steel Plant) spoke on Sepsis, Dr Ajit Karmakar (Dugapur Steel Plant) spoke on Stroke, and Dr Manoj Panigrahi (Rourkela Steel Plant) who spoke on the topic of Trauma. The pro-con debate was another captivating session where all Heads of Medical Divisions from six participating Steel plants spoke on various topics. They included Dr Prakash KH, Vaizag Steel Plant, Dr Soubhik Roy, Durgapur Steel Plant, Dr Biranchi Kumar Hota, Rourkela Steel Plant, Dr Susanta Sinha, Burnpur Steel plant, Dr Sudhir Rai, TMH, Dr Ravindranath M, Bhilai Steel plant, Dr K S Sujith Kumar, Bhadrawati Steel Plant and Dr Aninda Mandal, Bokaro Steel Plant. The topics included The Integrated Medicine: Need of the hour, Generic medicines or branded medicines- who wins the race, Robotic surgery- Hype or boon, and Pharmaceuticals in conference- Boon or Bane. Dr Soumyadeep Chatterjee spoke on Syndromic testing in critically ill patients with pneumonia bacteremia while Dr Bharti Sharma, HOD Ophthalmology, TMH spoke on the Computer assisted Cataract surgery.
