Plans are underway to transform Tatanagar station into a world-class facility, as revealed during a recent inspection conducted by Chakradharpur Railway Divisions DRM Arun J Rathore and other officials. Accompanied by senior DCM Gajraj Singh Charan, ARM Abhishek Singhal, station superintendent OP Sharma, and other officers, DRM Rathore closely examined the station premises and surrounding areas. The inspected sections included Jan Aahar canteen, dormitory, food zone, platforms, and the second entry gate. Notably, plans for the redevelopment include the construction of a flyover stretching from Pradeep Mishra Chowk to near the Railway Hospital. DRM Rathore marked the designated site for the flyover during the inspection, which also involved taking measurements at multiple locations. Key discussions were held regarding the safe operation of the Electric Loco Training Center, underscoring the commitment to ensuring passenger safety. Upon completion of the redevelopment project, Tatanagar station is poised to offer enhanced facilities including improved accessibility, waiting halls, upgraded toilets, cleanliness initiatives, free Wi-Fi, one station one product concept, and an improved passenger information system. Additionally, plans entail the construction of malls within the station premises, providing passengers with amenities akin to those found in airports. The redevelopment project is set to cover a total area of 3.50 lakh square feet, with an estimated expenditure exceeding Rs 350 crore.
