Since the narcotics case linked to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput was transferred to the NCB and officer Sameer Wankhede was made in-charge of the Mumbai Zonal Unit in September 2020, the agency has registered 40 cases. Among those named are actors, relatives of politicians and others linked to the underworld. In an interview, Wankhede speaks to Mohamed Thaver

Drug supplier Arif Bhujwala is touted to be one of the largest suppliers of Methamphetamine in the city and is believed to be in touch with drug suppliers linked to gangster Dawood Ibrahim.

The NCB is on the lookout for Arif Bhujwala, allegedly linked to the Dawood Ibrahim gang, and a major supplier of mephedrone who fled his Dongri residence on Thursday when the NCB team conducted a raid there.

On Wednesday, the NCB claimed to have busted the racket, and arrested Parvez Khan alias Chinku Pathan, who is related to underworld don Karim Lala active in Mumbai during the 1970s and 1980s, police said.

The NCB has claimed that the investigators had recovered voice chats between these accused and therefore, it is necessary to obtain their voice samples "to ascertain the nature and extent of their involvement".
